Magic at the Courtyard

So over the last few months I’ve been hosting and producing a series of nice little magic shows at The Courtyard bar in Wickersley near Sheffield.

The aim is to create a parlour magic type evening where the audience are up close and personal with the magicians and the magic happens right under their nose.

This means the audience is limited to around 40 people per show and the venue fits this nicely with guests seated around tables and in rows accordingly.

So far we’ve had a range of magicians performing all kinds of stuff from classic card routines and comedy stuff, some killer mentalism and mind reading and some mind blowing manipulation too. The common ingredient is that it connects with the audience and so far this has worked out well.

L-R: Jordan Maycock, Craig Frith and Tim Smithies.

I usually compere the evening and usually do a bit at the beginning and again after the break. These have ranged from group mind reading to hammering a nail up my nose… but aimed at getting people in the mood for the performer coming up. It’s a good room to work and we are on the way to creating something special and unique around these parts for magic — both for the audience and the performers.

So, if you want to get along to one — you’d be very welcome. They do sell out pretty fast at the moment too — you can get a ticket online via my eventbrite page here:

Or you can pick one up at the bar if you’re nearby. They are £10 each (booking fee applies online via eventbrite).

The next event is a special one off with Looch The Mind Reader – gonna be a good one!
