Sky 1 – Must Be The Music

We took part in the recent Sky One HD series ‘Must Be The Music’, we got to play at the rather nice Bridgewater Hall in Manchester for celebrity judges: Jamie Cullum, Sharleen Spiteri and Will Young.

They liked us, gave us three yes’s and put us onto the judges short list… We didn’t make it to the final 15 though but you can see how they get on by catching the live finals over the coming weeks on Sky One.

Hi all.

Whilst the nation was mourning the England game, we re launched our ukulele jam session called Ukulele Sunday but at our new venue – The Rude Shipyard, a neat cafe and bookshop on Abbeydale Road in Sheffield.

We had a fun afternoon, some beginners who were brave enough to have a go and some of the old gang who’ve worked out a few chords by now – so we recorded this little jam of the classic ‘five foot two’ with a few extra guests on piano (a neat little one they have in the cafe) and a mandolin that they have upstairs too… We had fun!

We’ve been in London this weekend to visit a few nice shops and chill out etc, whilst heading through spitalfields market Jake was approached and asked to take part in a fashion promo where he (and others) have their photos posted on Facebook and the one with the most friends who ‘like’ them get some free tickets to a festival!

The competition ends tonight but don’t worry as JLS are playing at the festival anyway…

Been working at RUFC’s end of season dinner this evening. We set up a whole bunch of screens and lights and it looked kinda nice. We also had live interactive voting for the goal of the season too… here’s a piccy!

I found out yesterday that the Santa Monica video that Jake and I recorded and then Andycam and I filmed was featured in this weeks youtube round up on ukulele hunt.

I played in the Guiness tent on St Patrick’s day with Ray and Tony and right in front of one of the PA stacks was this sign saying ‘designated mobile phone area’. He he he.

I was working in Ripon the other day and was pleased to see that this old lamp post was still standing proud in the Market square.

Mainly because years ago when I used to perform at the festival here regularly as ’suitcase circus’ with a juggling/magic act I once reversed into it… Doh.
